Where I'm From
I'm from trailers and houses
I never called home
From dirt roads to streets
all around we go
From drive by shootings
labeled as whitey
where we are accepted
From hot all year around
To cold winters and hot summers
I'm from hello's and goodbyes
to fighting and arguing
there's no place to hide
I'm from "I love you" and "I hate you"
to not speaking at all
under the weeping willow tree
to walking in the park
Secrets and notes here, under my bed
I keep them close, like they're my world.
